Getting started with paper assessments

How to run an in-person paper assessment in Akindi, from creating your assessment to printing.

Written by Erica Chan

Welcome to Akindi!

This guide covers running a paper assessment. Students complete it in person with a paper and any writing utensil. Akindi gives you two starting points, and this guide will help you pick which one is right for you.

If you've already created and run your assessment, check out how to grade your paper assessment.

💡 Running your assessment online instead? See Creating Online Assessments with Akindi.

Before you start

  1. Create your Akindi account. Most schools have Akindi built into their LMS — see the guide for Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard Ultra, or Moodle. If your school doesn't use the integration, sign up here.

  2. Set up your course and roster. This happens automatically with the LMS integration. Otherwise, click 'Create Course' in the left-hand menu, then upload a class roster.
