Grade written answer questions

Use the grading tab to mark written answer questions in Akindi. Grade by question or by student, turn blind grading on or off, add feedback, and save preset comments to reuse across students.

The Grading Tab

The grading tab is where you mark your written answer questions. For each question, Akindi displays the question text above the scanned portion of the student's answer, so you can read and mark the response directly in Akindi.

Grade Written Answer Questions

  1. Enter the mark for the question.

  2. Type in any feedback for the student.

  3. Click 'Confirm Grade' to save comment and mark

Akindi will automatically move to the next question for you to mark.

Use the arrow buttons on the top right to skip to other questions without grading the one you're on.

Preset Comments

Save a comment and mark as a preset to reuse it on other students' answers.

  • Enable the 'Save as preset' toggle to save comment and associated mark

  • Preset comments will appear under the associated question.

  • Click on the preset comment to apply it to this student's response.

You can create as many preset comments as you need, each with its own mark. New presets appear alongside your existing ones.

šŸ’” Prefer to mark by hand on paper? Use the Enter Hand Written Grade feature to add hand graded marks into Akindi to send a combined grade to your gradebook.
