What are Exceptions?
Anytime Akindi would like a human to verify a student's bubbled input, an exception will be called. This includes:
Missing, mis-filled, or duplicate Student IDs
Missing or mis-filled version bubbles
Question bubbles that may be mis-filled
Test sheets that were unable to be graded by Akindi
A Quick Tour

Student ID Exceptions
Anytime a student ID is missing, mis-filled or duplicated, a Student ID Exception is called.
How to resolve Student ID Exceptions:
1. Search for the student by name or student ID. Akindi will filter your roster and display the relevant students.
2. Select the appropriate student from the search results. Once selected, the test sheet will be assigned to the desired student.
Version Code Exceptions
On multi-version assessments, Akindi will call a version exception on missing or mis-filled version bubbles.
How to resolve Version Code Exceptions:
1. Akindi will display student's grade if their test sheet was grades against each version. The highest mark will be starred.
2. Select the appropriate version from the dropdown menu. Once selected, the student's test sheet will be graded agains the chosen answer key.
💡Bulk Actions: Quickly resolve multiple version exceptions at once, using the checkboxes or the 'Select All' button.
Scanning Error Exceptions
If Akindi is unable to find Corner Squares or a QR code the test sheet will be called as a Scanning Error Exception.
How to resolve Scanning Error Exceptions:
1. Review the image preview. Does this sheet need to be graded?
2a. If an uploaded bubble sheet needs to be graded, select 'Request Repair'.
2b. If an uploaded sheet does not need to be graded (for example, a question sheet was uploaded), select 'Discard Sheet'.
💡Bulk Actions: Quickly resolve multiple Scanning Errors at once, by selecting them using the checkboxes and choosing to 'Discard All' or 'Request Repair'.
Student Response Exceptions
If a student bubbles more responses than the answer key contains or if they partially fill a bubble, Akindi will call that question as a ‘Student Response’ exception.
How to resolve Student Response Exceptions:
1. Review the image preview.
2. If no changes need to be made to Akindi's identification, click 'Confirm Response'.
3. If a change is needed, make the desired change using the digital bubbles. Akindi will update the students 'marks earned' in real-time.
4. Once all the changes have been made, click 'Confirm Response' to save the change and resolve the exception.
Exceptions called on Select All That Apply questions are automatically marked as 'resolved' and can be reviewed under 'Show Fixed' toggle.
💡 Bulk Actions: Resolve multiple question exceptions at once using the checkboxes or 'Select All' button.
