How to format fill in the blank questions in a word document for Akindi's Question Importer

We recommend including the words 'Fill in the blank...' in the question to help assist Akindi to properly identify fill in the blank questions.

Fill in the Blank - Text

If you would like the student to type in the correct response for the blank, include the response in a square parentheses next to the blank. There can be multiple blanks in a single question.

For example:

  1. Fill in the Blank: Akindi is based in ___ [Toronto] and the team's favourite place to go for lunch is ____ [Wilbur].

Fill in the Blank - Select

If you would like the student to select the correct response from a dropdown menu, include the response selections in a square parentheses next to the blank and indicate the correct response. There can be multiple blanks in a single question.

For Example:

  1. Fill in the Blank: Akindi is based in ___ [Montreal, Toronto*, Vancouver, Calgary] and the team's favourite place to go for lunch is ____ [Wilbur*, Fresh, Impact Kitchen, What-a-bagel].
