How does the identification work?
Akindi is designed for your to upload your existing test question word document (.docx) without needing to customize the formatting.
Question & Answer Option Identification
Akindi automatically detects questions and answer options when they follow a standard multiple-choice format.
Questions should:
Begin with a number (1, 2, 3, etc.) and be followed by either a period '1.' or a parenthesis '1)'
Answer Options should:
Begin with a letter (A, B, C, etc.) and be followed by either a period 'a.' or a parenthesis 'a)'
Both uppercase or lowercase letters (eg. 'a.' or 'A.') are accepted.
Matching Questions
Akindi will automatically recognize matching questions included in your uploaded Word document (.docx) by looking for the following items:
Wording similar to "Match the..." followed by
Two columns of text with:
The left-column being a numbered list
The right-column being a lettered list
Answer Key Identification
The following format options can be used to identify the correct answer:
Bolding the correct answer
Add an asterisk (*) next to the correct answer
Highlight the correct answer.
Akindi will remove answer key indicator to ensure the student is not shown the correct answer.
π‘ At the moment, it isn't possible for Akindi to detect answer keys for matching questions. The answer key will have to be set after being uploaded to Akindi.
Question Group Identification
Akindi will automatically identify question groups in your word document by looking wording similar to "Use the [image/table/ information] below to answer the following X questions."
Akindi will use the number of questions listed in the preamble to know how many questions are part of the question group.
π‘ Avoid mentioning specific question numbers in the question group preamble, if you plan to scramble the questions, as the location of the question will change from one version to the next.
For example:
β "Use the image to answer Questions 2-5."
β Use the image to answer the following 3 questions."
