Creating your online bubble sheet assessment

Once you’ve created a course, click the 'Create Assessment' button in the top right corner. From the create assessment page, you can choose the appropriate course, name the assessment, and choose a layout.

For online bubble sheets, Akindi will automatically display the Student Name, Student ID, and the course and assessment name on the students’ bubble sheets. This will occur whether ‘pre-fill student information’ has been selected or not.

Creating your answer key

Once you’ve created your assessment, you will be prompted to create your answer key. The answer key can be created using the digital interface, the 'Import/Export' button or the 'Upload Answer Key' feature. Use 'Advanced Marking' options to control the weight and grading scheme of the questions.

You can choose to enter your answer key before or after your online bubble sheets have been sent to students.

Once you've entered the Answer Key, click 'Continue'.

Visit our 'Creating an Answer Key' guide for a complete tutorial.

Delivering an Online Assessment

Having successfully created your assessment and answer key, you will have the option to either print your bubble sheets or configure an Online Assessment. Select 'Configure Online Assessment'.

You can also find the option to configure an Online Assessment from your Akindi dashboard.

Uploading test questions

The first step allows you to upload a PDF file of the test questions that will be displayed to your students alongside their online bubble sheet.

If you have set up multiple versions of your assessment, you will have the option to upload multiple PDFS, each assigned to a different version.

If you’d prefer not to upload the test questions, you can select 'I don't want to upload test questions' and Akindi will not display any questions alongside students' online bubble sheet.

Scheduling the timeframe for the online assessment

The 'Activation time' is when students will be granted access to start their assessment. The 'Deadline' is when the Online Assessment closes, meaning students can no longer access their assessment or submit their answers.

You’ll have the option to turn the test into a timed assessment. Under 'Time limit', select the hours and minutes that your students will be given to complete their submission. If you don't want to set a time limit, select the 'Disable time limit' checkbox.

Adjusting Assessment Times for Selected Students

You'll be taken to the 'Online Assessment Status' page where you'll have the opportunity to adjust the time limit, activation time and deadline for selected students that may require accommodations.

Select students from the table, click on the 'Actions' dropdown menu and select 'Configure Online Assessment'.

Progress to 'Step 2: Customize Schedule' where you can make timing adjustments for the students you selected. Click 'Save & Continue' to return to the 'Online Assessment Status' page.

Emailing Students Their Online Assessment

Each student requires a unique URL to access their Online Assessment. To email all students their Online Assessment link, select 'View Online Assessment Status' from your course dashboard and then click the 'Actions' dropdown menu and select 'Email Student(s) Online Assessment'.

You'll have the option to customize the subject and message of the email that is sent to students.

Once you hit 'Send' the emails will be immediately sent to students, but they won't be able to access their assessment until the 'Activation time' has passed.

Monitoring Student Progress

To help you manage the process of delivering an Online Assessment, select 'View Online Assessment Status' from your course dashboard at any point after you've set up your Online Assessment.

Here you can keep track of and sort by:

  • The delivery status of online assessment emails
  • The number of questions answered by each student
  • Which students have submitted their assessments

Viewing & exporting the results for online bubble sheets

As each student submits their online assessment, the results will populate in Akindi. Click ‘View Results’ on your Akindi course dashboard to access the assessment responses and analytics.

Once the assessment deadline has passed, and the results have all been collated, the results are ready to be exported.

If you've run an Akindi online bubble sheet assessment, you can export the results by clicking 'Send grades to 'LMS'' or in the following ways from the ‘Actions’ dropdown menu:

  • Download CSV
  • Download Question Breakdown CSV
  • Email Students Their Grades
