💡 By default, Akindi will use the sis_id as the student ID. The below steps will change the ID that Akindi pulls and uses as the Student ID.
1) Log into Canvas > Go to 'Admin' > 'Institution' > 'Developer Keys'
2) Click 'Edit' Icon next to 'Akindi LTI 1.3' developer key
3) Expand ‘Additional Settings’ accordion
4) In the ‘Custom Fields’ input, paste the desired variable substitution string.
For example, to use integration_id, paste sisintegrationid=$Canvas.user.sisIntegrationId
5. Click 'Save'
💡 Was the course roster previous synced in Akindi?
Contact your account manager before syncing again. We'll ensure students with new IDs are properly updated while preserving their existing records.
