Customize Test Question Formatting in Akindi

Format and customize the exported test question PDF. Choose a style preset, add a header, include a cover page, and adjust font size, margins, spacing, and answer layout.

Customize the exported test question PDF directly from Akindi.

Akindi displays a real-time preview of how your test questions will be formatted and displayed on the exported PDF.

Style

Choose a style to apply a full set of layout and typography defaults to your test question PDF. Akindi will display a real-time preview as you make changes.

Header

Add a header that appears centered at the top of every page of the exported PDF.

  1. Click 'Header'.

  2. Enter the desired header text in the text box.

  3. Press 'Save'.

Cover Page

Enable the 'Separate Cover Page' toggle to add a cover page to each version of your assessment. The cover page will include:

  • Course name

  • Assessment name

  • Assessment version

  • Assessment instructions

Customize Panel

Click 'Customize...' to expand the advanced formatting options. These settings let you override the defaults set by the selected style.

  • Font Size - adjust font size: 10pt, 11pt, 12pt

  • Margins - adjust margin width: 0.25", 0.5", 1.0"

  • Bold Questions - When enabled, question text will appear in bold on the exported PDF

  • Indent Answers - When enabled, answer options are indented beneath the question text.

  • Allow horizontal answers - When enabled, short answer options are displayed side by side to save space.
